What is IUI?
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is a simple and painless procedure of depositing washed and concentrated sperm
directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation to maximise the chances of the sperm meeting the egg and
increase pregnancy rates.
The IUI Process:
- Ovulation Tracking: Through blood tests and ultrasounds, our fertility specialist identifies the optimal time for insemination.
- Sperm Preparation: Partner’s sperm / donor sperm (consent of the couple) is washed and concentrated in a laboratory to
enhance its quality. - Insemination: A thin, flexible catheter is used to place the prepared sperm directly into the uterus, a quick and painless procedure often completed within minutes.
- Pregnancy Test: Around two weeks later, a pregnancy test confirms the results
